App State vs Coastal Carolina Preview
An upcoming Friday night college football schedule features a notable Sun Belt matchup as the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers prepare to host the App State Mountaineers. Both programs enter the contest looking to secure a vital victory within conference play.
The matchup takes place at Brooks Stadium in Conway, South Carolina, with kickoff scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Current betting markets list the Mountaineers as 1.5-point favorites, while the over/under for total combined points is established at 48.5.
Team Records and Recent Momentum
Coastal Carolina holds a 2-4 overall record alongside a 1-1 conference standing. The Coastal Carolina football squad managed to snap a three-game losing streak via a Week 6 victory against Marshall.
Meanwhile, appalachian state football enters this week aiming to prevent a three-game skid following consecutive losses to NC State and Old Dominion. The Mountaineers currently sit at 3-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play, highlighting the urgency of this Friday night meeting.
Historical Matchups and Expectations
Recent history favors the home side in this rivalry. Coastal Carolina vs app state encounters over the last three meetings have all ended in victories for the Chanticleers.
As app state football seeks to reverse that trend, analytical models and projections have weighed in on the outcome. Computer simulations from projection systems indicate that the total points will lean toward the Under, while one side of the point spread is projected to hit in a significant majority of simulated outcomes.
