Bihar MLC Result: BJP Secures First Seat as Vote Counting Continues
The first outcome of the bihar mlc result shows a victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party, while counting proceeds for seven remaining upper house seats.

Bihar MLC Result Updates and Early Wins
The latest bihar mlc result updates show that the Bharatiya Janata Party has claimed the initial victory, securing the Tirhut teachers constituency seat. National Democratic Alliance candidate Narendra Prasad Singh triumphed over independent candidate Bhushan Jha, finishing with 2,945 votes compared to Jha's 2,351 votes, while Communist Party of India candidate Sanjay Singh took third place with 1,967 votes.
Security measures remained strict outside the counting center at Bankipur Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Patna on the counting day. Polling for the eight upper house seats was previously conducted on October 23, 2026, using ballot papers.
Counting Underway for Remaining Constituencies
As vote counting continues for the seven remaining seats, initial reports from the counting centers outline varied leads across different graduate and teachers constituencies. The remaining contests cover four graduate seats—Kosi, Tirhut, Patna, and Darbhanga—alongside three teachers constituencies in Saran, Patna, and Darbhanga.
In the Patna graduate constituency, Janata Dal (United) candidate Neeraj Kumar has faced an uphill battle and is trailing, following a boycott led by Mokama MLA Anant Singh. Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Dilip Patel holds the lead there, with Jan Suraaj Party candidate Anuj Singh positioned in third. Meanwhile, Jan Suraaj Party candidate Surendra Prasad Rai leads in the Darbhanga teachers constituency, where sitting Congress MLC Madan Mohan Jha is trailing behind.
Contests Across Saran, Kosi, and Darbhanga
Additional trends indicate that independent candidate Rahul Raj is currently ahead in the Saran teacher constituency. In the Kosi graduate seat, N.K. Yadav of the BJP leads the field, followed by Jan Suraaj Party candidate Rajnish Ranjan and RJD's Nitish Kumar in second and third places respectively.
A tight race has unfolded in the Patna teachers constituency between BJP candidate Nawal Kishore Yadav and RJD contender Sajeev Kumar. Additionally, in the Darbhanga graduate seat, RJD candidate Anil Jha holds a lead against BJP candidate Sarvesh Kumar. Final outcomes for these constituencies are anticipated to be officially declared following the completion of ballot paper tabulation.
