Latest d a news Highlights Employee Concerns
Central government employees and pensioners are closely following recent d a news as suspense continues over the delayed dearness allowance and dearness relief hike. The Union Cabinet skipped the anticipated announcement, prompting significant concern among beneficiaries who point to escalating living costs.
AIDEF Urges Immediate Announcement
In response to the delay, the All India Defence Employees’ Association (AIDEF) dispatched a formal letter to the Cabinet Secretary and relevant ministries. The civilian defence employee body emphasized that rising prices of essential commodities are placing employees and pensioners under severe financial strain. The association requested that the government expedite the announcement for the due dearness allowance and dearness relief without further delay.
Current Rates and Bonus Wage Ceiling Demands
While the existing dearness allowance rate stands at 60 percent, June data indicates a potential rise to approximately 63 percent, subject to official confirmation. Alongside the allowance updates, the AIDEF has reiterated its call to revise the performance-linked bonus wage ceiling. The organization seeks an increase from the current Rs 7,000 limit to Rs 21,000, arguing that the adjustment aligns better with current minimum basic salary structures.
Financial Impact on Beneficiaries
If the bonus wage ceiling is successfully raised to Rs 21,000, estimated annual bonus payouts for eligible non-gazetted employees could shift from roughly Rs 6,908 up to Rs 20,724. Meanwhile, stakeholders continue waiting for formal word from the government regarding both the allowance revisions and the bonus framework.
