Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez Team Up for Rare Beauty
Childhood friends Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez have officially brought their lifelong friendship into a cosmetics partnership. Launching the Delena Soft Pinch Blush Bundle, the collaboration features two of the brand's popular liquid blush shades: Virtue, which is Lovato's favorite, and Hope, which is Gomez's favorite.
The project came about organically after Gomez showed support by attending Lovato's concert stop in Orlando. Backstage, the long-time friends reconnected, paving the way for the collaboration. To bring the campaign to life, the pair recreated memorable poses from their 2009 movie Princess Protection Program.
Reflecting on Childhood and Early Careers
Long before achieving international pop stardom, the former Disney Channel stars dreamed of walking red carpets together. Reflecting on their journey, Lovato recalled how they even practiced specific poses, though the reality at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards turned out to be far more humorous than planned.
Looking back at old YouTube vlogs, Lovato shared how watching the footage brought up feelings of nostalgia and amusement, offering a glimpse into their early innocence and drive. Meeting at age seven on the set of Barney, the pair have experienced various chapters in their friendship, ranging from close daily contact to periods of less frequent communication.
Advocating for Mental Health and Future Music
Beyond beauty and nostalgia, Lovato has been open about her personal journey with mental health, addiction, eating disorders, and bipolar disorder. Wanting to serve as the role model she never had when navigating early fame, Lovato praised Gomez for also becoming a strong advocate for mental wellness.
On the musical front, Lovato recently explored a dance-pop sound and embraced platforms like TikTok to connect with audiences. While she is unsure exactly what her next musical era will bring, she remains focused on creating future music and continuing her career path.
