Lulu Group has announced that it will continue legal proceedings against controversial YouTuber Shajan Skaria despite an apology, ruling out any settlement.

Lulu Group Pursues Defamation Case
Lulu Group has firmly stated that it will push forward with legal proceedings against controversial YouTuber ഷാജന് സ്കറിയാ. Representatives for the organisation clarified that no compromises will be made, emphasising that the legal process will proceed fully.
The conflict arose after allegations were shared online regarding the company and its leadership. Lulu Communications head V Nandakumar stated that targeting a respected global enterprise for clickbait and viewership is unacceptable, and that any personal apologies offered do not alter the company's resolve to seek accountability through the courts.
Background of the Controversy
The dispute stems from a video published in November 2020 via the Marunadan Malayali YouTube channel. The content featured assertions linking chairman M.A. Yusuff Ali and Fahas Ashraf to issues including gold smuggling. In response to these claims, Lulu Group initiated formal legal action, filing a defamation suit seeking 10 crore rupees in damages.
Following the legal action, the individual behind the channel released material expressing that there was never any intention to personally target or offend Yusuff Ali. The footage also included statements of regret regarding the remarks.
The Stance on Legal Proceedings
Despite expressions of regret, corporate representatives maintain that the judicial path remains necessary to address malicious campaigns. Officials noted that while everyone holds the right to free expression in a democratic society, spreading false claims to damage a major establishment crosses acceptable boundaries.
The organisation's legal department continues to monitor and counter hostile assertions directed at its leadership and global operations, placing full trust in the country's judicial framework to resolve the matter appropriately.
