Milwaukee Bucks Release Guard Kevin Porter Jr. Ahead of Campaign
The Milwaukee Bucks have waived guard kevin porter jr ahead of the upcoming campaign. Find out about his career stats and potential landing spots.

Milwaukee Bucks Make Roster Changes
The Milwaukee Bucks have decided to part ways with guard kevin porter jr ahead of the 2026-27 season. ESPN's Shams Charania reported that the franchise chose to waive the veteran backcourt player to meet roster limits.
Although he had a productive tenure in Milwaukee, a lingering right knee injury caused him to miss a significant portion of action. Following a difficult preseason performance, the organization ultimately opted to move in a different direction.
Career Background and Previous Teams
Originally selected in the first round of the 2019 draft, the player began his professional journey with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He later spent three seasons with the Houston Rockets.
At the start of the 2024-25 term, he suited up for the Los Angeles Clippers before transferring to Milwaukee midway through the year. During his 38 appearances with the Bucks last season, he recorded 17.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and a career-best 7.4 assists per game.
Potential Landing Spots and Market Interest
As an available free agent, the guard is expected to find a new home quickly as teams manage early-season injuries. Prior to his release, insider Jake Fischer noted that the Sacramento Kings held trade interest in him.
The Kings recently lost Ben Simmons for the year due to a torn Achilles tendon on Sunday, creating an urgent need for backcourt depth. While rookie Darius Acuff Jr. is anticipated to serve as the starting point guard, the newly available free agent could act as a valuable backup.
Additionally, the Minnesota Timberwolves feature limited depth behind LaMelo Ball, who joined the roster this offseason. With second-round draft pick Isaiah Evans currently positioned behind Ball, adding an experienced free agent would provide an immediate roster upgrade.
