Indian all-rounder and Royal Challengers Bangalore player ಪ್ರೇಮಾ ರಾವತ್ has achieved a remarkable milestone by setting a new world record for the fastest half-century in women's T20 cricket. Representing the Uttarakhand team, she accomplished this feat by hammering an unbeaten 50 runs from only 14 deliveries.
Record-Breaking Innings in Pune
The landmark performance took place on Monday at the MCA Cricket Stadium located in Gahunje, Pune, during a Senior Women's T20 Trophy Elite match against Hyderabad. During this explosive knock, ಪ್ರೇಮಾ ರಾವತ್ hit three boundaries and six massive sixes, helping propel her team to a commanding total of 187 runs for the loss of two wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Surpassing Previous Milestones
With this blazing 14-ball half-century, ಪ್ರೇಮಾ ರಾವತ್ eclipsed the previous record held by Mary Kelly, who had previously recorded a fifty off 15 deliveries. The 24-year-old bowling all-rounder from Uttarakhand has previously represented the Indian women's national team in seven T20 international matches and was also part of the squad that secured the Women's Asia Cup title back in September.
WPL Association With RCB
In the Women's Premier League, ಪ್ರೇಮಾ ರಾವತ್ is associated with the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise. She was acquired by the team during the 2025 WPL auction for a sum of ₹1.2 crore and has been retained by the franchise for the ongoing setup.
