PVR Launches Rajasthan's First IMAX Screen
PVR has expanded its footprint by introducing Rajasthan's inaugural IMAX screen inside a newly opened five-screen cinema at Pacific Mall, situated in the Mansarovar area of Jaipur. This major launch is timed ahead of the festive season and features the highly anticipated film Ramayana leading its initial screening schedule.
The newly unveiled venue represents the exhibitor's eighth location in Jaipur, lifting the company's local screen total to 78. Nationally, this addition increases the network's total IMAX count to 27 screens.
Cinema Features and Technology
Designed with a total seating capacity of 949 people, the five-screen property incorporates advanced audiovisual systems. Every auditorium is equipped with 4K laser projection, Dolby Surround Sound, and next-generation 3D technology. Meanwhile, the dedicated imax auditorium pairs a large-format display with custom image remastering and precision-aligned sound.
Beyond standard seating, the location provides upgraded amenities including Celebrity Recliners, a Cinema Food Court, and self-service kiosks that let visitors easily customise food and beverage selections.
Strategic Expansion and Leadership Remarks
Company leadership noted that Jaipur holds a strong cultural affinity for storytelling, making it a prime candidate for bringing advanced viewing formats to the region. Executives emphasised that the business aims to broaden access to globally recognised cinema formats as audiences increasingly demand differentiated entertainment experiences.
Presently, operations span 1,802 screens across 359 properties in 114 cities throughout India and Sri Lanka. This rollout forms part of a wider corporate plan focused on growing urban market presence and investing in premium cinematic upgrades.
