Zimbabwe captain sikandar raza has opened up about his upcoming retirement, stating that competing in a home ODI World Cup before hanging up his boots is a true blessing. Approaching the end of his professional career, the veteran player shared his thoughts during the launch of a mobile cricket application.
As one of the co-hosts for the upcoming 2027 tournament alongside South Africa and Namibia, Zimbabwe is scheduled to host all group matches across Harare, Bulawayo, and a newly established venue located in Victoria Falls.

Tournament Structure and Venue Highlights
Looking ahead at the 2027 ODI World Cup layout, the team leadership expressed approval of the Super Seven stage format, noting that consistent performers deserve additional matches. Meanwhile, preparations continue around the new Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium in Victoria Falls, which is set to stage a high-profile fixture between Zimbabwe and India.
Although securing a distinct home advantage at major ICC events remains a challenge due to governing body oversight, the squad intends to capitalize on supportive conditions wherever possible. Beyond the matches themselves, the visiting fans are expected to enjoy a scenic and hospitable environment during their stay.
