During the podcast appearance, Sophia Bush explained that Burton and Murray had previously worked together on another project, which left Burton with a negative impression. Although Burton was one of her closest friends on set and gave clear guidance to avoid him, Bush acknowledged that she did not listen at the time.

The former couple married in April 2005 during an oceanfront ceremony in Santa Monica, California, when they were both 23 years old. However, the relationship dissolved rapidly, leading to a separation just five months later and a finalized divorce in December 2006.
