Sunil Lahri Praises ravi dubey in New Adaptation
Veteran actor Sunil Lahri has expressed his approval of ravi dubey taking on the role of Lakshman in Nitesh Tiwari's ambitious cinematic project, Ramayana. On the day the film arrived in theatres, Lahri shared his support on social media to wish the production team well.
Fan Reel Comparison and Character Portrayal
To voice his support, Sunil Lahri posted a fan-created reel comparing his own past television portrayal of Lakshman alongside the version brought to life by ravi dubey. While Lahri's iconic television work was tagged without references or visual effects, the modern interpretation utilizes contemporary technology and numerous references. Lahri noted that the necessary intensity and innocence expected from the character are clearly visible in the new performance.
Music Controversy Surrounding the Release
Although the casting choices have received positive remarks from predecessors, other elements of the production have drawn scrutiny. The film features a musical score composed through a collaboration between Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman. Sunil Lahri previously expressed disappointment with certain tracks, explaining as a listener that he felt songs should have better reflected the local flavors of Ayodhya and Mithila. Additional backlash has centered on specific tracks like 'Mangal Rang' due to perceived Sufi-Islamic Qawwali influences, though Lahri maintained that he believes the director has ultimately crafted a good film.
Release Schedule
The cinematic adaptation of Ramayana is rolling out in two distinct parts. The initial installment has debuted in cinemas just ahead of Diwali, while the second part is scheduled to reach audiences during Diwali 2028.
