Toluca Secures Liguilla Berth With Dominant Win in Toluca vs Monterrey
Toluca defeated Monterrey 4-0 at Estadio Nemesio Diez, breaking a winless streak and securing their spot in the Liguilla.

Toluca delivered a commanding performance to defeat Monterrey 4-0 at the Estadio Nemesio Diez, officially securing their qualification for the Liguilla. The decisive victory allowed the squad managed by Antonio Mohamed to break out of a seven-match winless skid in the Liga MX.
The home side established control early in the contest. Nicolás Castro initiated the scoring sequence in the 8th minute through a precise volea following a buildup with Brian García. Mid-way through the first period, Castro created further danger by setting up Paulinho, who executed an elevated finish over the opposing goalkeeper to double the advantage.
Offensive Dominance in Toluca FC Victory
Rayados struggled to generate meaningful attacking opportunities throughout the encounter. Hugo Cuypers remained largely quiet near the penalty area, while Lucas Ocampos missed a chance just before halftime with back-to-back attempts that failed to convert.
Shortly after the second half commenced, Toluca extended their lead. Helinho fed a pass to Paulinho in the 51st minute, allowing the forward to strike cleanly through the goalkeeper's legs for his second score of the evening.
The Turning Point in Toluca vs Monterrey
Monterrey faced further difficulties when defender Carlos Salcedo received a direct red card at the 61st mark due to a strong tackle on Helinho. Playing down a man for the remaining half-hour, Rayados offered little resistance against the ongoing pressure.
In stoppage time, Jesús Gallardo put the finishing touch on the performance with a left-footed strike in the 91st minute, sealing the four-goal margin.
