Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Welcome a New Puppy
Television hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are expanding their household after adopting a rescue puppy named Javi. The husband-and-wife duo introduced the dog to viewers during a special animal adoption segment on their morning program.
Meeting Rescue Puppy Javi
During an Adopt a Dog Week segment on Live with Kelly and Mark, the couple encountered the puppy, who was originally named Lucas and rescued by a New Jersey organization called Pet ResQ Inc. Mark Consuelos brought the animal into Kelly Ripa's dressing room, prompting an immediate emotional connection. After a successful initial meeting and chemistry test with their existing dog, Lena, the pair confirmed their official adoption plans.
Preparing the Townhouse
While awaiting final medical clearances and tests before bringing Javi home to their Upper East Side residence, Kelly Ripa noted that she has already begun nesting. The couple shares their $27 million, 7,796-square-foot New York City home with Lena. Ripa has previously expressed her intention to remain in the art deco and modern-styled townhouse indefinitely, describing it as her forever home.
A Meaningful Addition
The arrival of the new puppy carries a deeper sentiment for the family. Ripa mentioned that Javi bears a strong resemblance to Chewie, their former shih tzu who died in February 2025. She expressed a feeling that their late pet may have helped guide the new puppy to their lives.
