Galatasaray secured their first points of the European campaign by defeating Lille 4-2 in northern France. Tracking the losc lille vs galatasaray standings highlights how this victory marks the Turkish side's initial win in the current Champions League season.

Early Action and Goals

Seeking to recover from a previous home defeat against Barcelona, Galatasaray opened the scoring within the first two minutes when Yunus Akgun capitalized on a defensive error by Alexsandro. Lille responded quickly in the seventh minute through 19-year-old winger Soriba Diaoune, who rounded the visiting goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir to equalize.

The first half saw intense action, including a revoked penalty review for Galatasaray involving goalkeeper Berke Ozer and Victor Osimhen. Diaoune netted his second of the evening just before the interval, but defensive lapses allowed Aleksey Batrakov to head in an equalizer right before halftime from a cross delivered by Roland Sallai.

Second Half Deciders

Suspicious marking continued to plague the home side after the break. Lucas Torreira put the visitors ahead again seven minutes into the second half via a header from a corner that took a final touch off Ozer.

Former Lille striker Victor Osimhen sealed the outcome past the hour mark by finishing off a swift counter-attack, securing his first goal in the competition since February and compounding the misery for his former club.
