Mahindra BE 7 Charging Spy Shots Surface in India
Fresh test mule images have emerged showing the upcoming Mahindra BE 7 plugged into a public charging station in Karnataka, presumed to be Bengaluru. These recent photographs offer a much closer and more detailed look at the electric SUV than previous sightings.
The spotted vehicle featured a distinctive white and violet camouflage pattern, differing from the black and white wrap used on other testing units. The charging port is positioned on the rear left quarter panel where a traditional fuel cap is normally placed, matching the layout of other electric origin SUVs from the manufacturer.
Design Highlights and Exterior Features
When compared to the smaller BE 6 currently on sale, the upcoming model is noticeably larger and incorporates several premium attributes. Most notably, the vehicle features frameless doors equipped with an automatic window-drop mechanism that lowers the glass slightly upon opening and raises it back once closed.
Unlike previous flush door handles from the brand that only pop out on one side, this model utilizes fully mechanized handles that pop out entirely, bearing resemblance to mechanisms found in Tesla and BYD vehicles. Additional exterior elements include massive C-shaped LED DRL and tail light signatures, a clamshell bonnet and tailgate, a sporty spoiler with a neatly hidden rear wiper, and two spoiler-mounted cameras pointing to a possible digital rearview mirror setup.
Interior Expectations and Powertrain Options
Inside the cabin, the layout is expected to closely follow its concept vehicle origins, featuring three dashboard screens and a center console and sporty seats reminiscent of the BE 6. Expected creature comforts include ventilated powered seats, a 1400W 16-speaker Harman audio setup, the Adrenox suite, Level-2+ ADAS, ambient lighting, and automated parking assistance.
Underneath the body, the SUV is expected to utilize battery capacities similar to other electric origin models in the lineup, specifically 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh packs. This setup could yield a claimed driving range close to 700 kilometers, with a real-world capability of around 500 kilometers. Performance-wise, a rear-wheel-drive single motor configuration producing up to 282 bhp is anticipated, alongside a potential dual-motor variant at launch.
