New Updates Expand Cloud Gaming and Speed Up the Xbox Experience
Xbox has rolled out a refreshed web experience for cloud gaming alongside a faster PC app featuring significant performance improvements.

Xbox has announced a series of performance updates and interface changes aimed at making its ecosystem faster and simpler. The latest rollout introduces improvements for personal computers, web browsers, and cloud gaming platforms.
These adjustments follow feedback from users regarding where the overall experience could be improved. While testing results can vary depending on individual devices and internet connections, the company has detailed several measurable enhancements across its platforms.
Speed Improvements for the PC App
Xbox Insiders are the first to experience a redesigned PC application built to handle everyday actions with greater speed. According to internal testing, the app itself launches up to 60% faster than before. Additionally, pages such as Home, Store, and Game Pass load up to 50% faster, while internal windows open up to 65% faster.
Navigation has also been streamlined. The library features updated filters and simpler ways to sort games, while social features and friend lists are now integrated directly into the main navigation bar. Search functionality now covers installed titles, add-ons, and other users from a single unified location.
Expanding Cloud Gaming on the Web
The updated web platform for cloud gaming is rolling out automatically to more players over the coming weeks. Those who wish to test the interface immediately can visit play.xbox.com directly.
The redesigned web portal introduces a dedicated Library tab that consolidates titles available through cloud gaming, whether owned directly or accessed via subscription services. Users can filter titles by recent activity, genre, and input options. Desktop mode has also been optimized to utilize larger displays more effectively, accompanied by new dark, light, and high-contrast visual modes.
Bringing Familiar Navigation to TVs and VR Headsets
In addition to PC and web updates, the refreshed look is coming to cloud gaming applications on supported televisions and virtual reality headsets. Although each device type offers a distinct playing environment, the underlying goal is to maintain a familiar layout for browsing libraries and launching titles quickly.
Feedback mechanisms remain open for participants in the preview programs, allowing the community to guide future software iterations.
