Orsai Faces Estafa Accusations From Investors Over Movie Funds
Writer Hernán Casciari faces public accusations of estafa from community financial contributors who claim they missed out on earnings and fund clarity.

Understanding the Orsai Community Controversy
Community financial contributors have accused writer Hernán Casciari of estafa after alleging they did not receive expected earnings or transparent details about fund destinations. The creator of the Orsai community found himself at the center of this controversy following complaints from backers who funded community films.
Among the affected productions is La muerte de un comediante, which was shot last year across Brussels and Argentina. The project features Diego Peretti as both director and lead actor.
Diego Peretti Clarifies His Role
Following the public backlash directed at the project founder, Diego Peretti released a comprehensive statement via his official Instagram account to outline his involvement. The actor explained that Casciari initially approached him to direct his first feature film utilizing Orsai's collective financing model, similar to the approach previously used for La uruguaya.
Peretti emphasized that he signed a contract with Orsai for fixed fees covering specific artistic tasks, noting that he wrote the script and performed his duties ad honorem. Furthermore, the actor stated that neither he nor co-director Javier Beltramino took part in determining the economic conditions offered to socio-producers, nor did they handle financial management, fundraising, or administrative duties.
Response From Hernán Casciari
In response to the viral complaints from affected participants, Hernán Casciari utilized his Instagram platform to issue a defense. He published a video reel featuring a QR code that redirects users to a website displaying invoices issued by Orsai based on producer investments.
Casciari firmly rejected the allegations, stating that he refuses to accept characterizations of fraud, Ponzi schemes, or estafa regarding Orsai's operations, maintaining that the organization has never engaged in such practices.
