Texas Roadhouse Steak Complaint: Kenneth Card Alleges Wrong Cuts
A loyal customer shared on TikTok that he received a cheaper sirloin instead of a filet mignon multiple times at an Illinois restaurant location.

A regular patron of a popular steakhouse chain went viral after alleging he was repeatedly served a cheaper cut of meat than what he paid for. The incident brought wider attention to the differences between menu options and sparked online discussion about food accuracy.
Details of the Texas Roadhouse Steak Complaint Kenneth Card Filed
Kenneth Card posted a video on TikTok in early October to warn other diners after visiting a Restaurant location in Forsyth, Illinois. According to Card, he received a sirloin instead of a filet mignon across three separate visits. His video quickly gathered over 30,000 views as viewers weighed in on the situation.
Card stated that his background working in hotel and restaurant kitchens preparing and cutting steaks gave him the confidence to spot the difference. He explained that a filet melts in the mouth and is very tender, whereas a sirloin tends to be a bit grittier and chewier.
Background and Restaurant Response
Card frequented the Forsyth establishment about once a week for over a year, establishing a rapport with the staff. During his first visit when he suspected an error, staff provided him a replacement filet. On a subsequent visit, he ate the meal without raising concerns, but on the third occasion, he spoke directly with a manager.
Management took the plate back for a second opinion and confirmed it was not what he ordered. A company spokesperson later told reporters that the business could not verify that the swap happened three times, though they confirmed it was corrected onsite once when management quickly made it right.
Future Actions and Customer Advice
While the corporate office noted that kitchen team members double-check food for quality and accuracy before it leaves the kitchen, Card stated he does not plan to return to that specific establishment. Representatives advise that guests who believe they received an incorrect item or incorrect charge should notify their server immediately so the team can address it right away.
