UAB Overcomes Deficit in Overtime Thriller
UAB pulled off a remarkable comeback victory, defeating East Carolina 30-17 in an overtime showdown. The exciting college football contest took place during a homecoming matchup at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama.
How Uab Football Erased the Deficit
The visiting team established an early advantage when east carolina football capitalized on its opening drives. Emory Williams connected with Ray Ray Joseph Jr. for a 3-score before Dawson Quarterman recovered a fumble in the end zone, giving the Pirates a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter. However, uab football steadily chipped away at the margin behind the kicking of Jonah Delange, who converted field goals from 41, 26, and 50 yards out.
Trailing late in regulation, quarterback Ryder Burton engineered a 93-yard drive, completing a 17-yard touchdown pass to Bam McReynolds with just 35 seconds remaining. Burton then ran in a two-point conversion to level the score at 17-17 and force the extra period.
