Hero MotoCorp Introduces Updated Motorcycle
Hero MotoCorp has officially introduced the updated hero xtreme 160r 4v, bringing comprehensive changes to its styling, technology, electronics, and rider interface. Carrying its most extensive revision since the 4V variant debuted in 2023, the motorcycle aims to offer a fresher experience to riders in the segment.
The updated model is available across three distinct variants. The entry-level Standard variant is priced at Rs 1.27 lakh, the mid-tier Pro variant costs Rs 1.37 lakh, and the range-topping Carbon variant sits at the top at Rs 1.41 lakh. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom Delhi, and the vehicle will be distributed through both regular Hero MotoCorp outlets and Hero Premia dealerships.
Design and Styling Updates
Hero has applied its new design language, labeled 'Cybersharp', featuring redesigned tank shrouds, a more muscular overall stance, and reshaped body panels. The fuel tank has also been structurally reworked to enhance rider comfort and improve knee grip. The lighting system has been completely overhauled to include an auto-illuminating Class D LED headlamp, a projector high beam, H-shaped DRLs, an ambient light sensor, an H-shaped LED tail lamp, and full-LED indicators.
Engine Performance and Maintenance
Propelling the motorcycle is a 163cc four-valve, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers 17bhp and 14.6Nm of torque. Hero states that the machine can accelerate from 0 to 60kmph in 4.4 seconds, positioning it as a fast contender in its category. Furthermore, ownership practicality has been improved with longer service intervals; neither tappet adjustments nor oil changes are required until reaching 6,000km.
New Technology and Electronics
Thanks to the introduction of ride-by-wire electronic throttle control, the hero moto corp xtreme 160r 4v now features three selectable riding modes: Rain, Road, and Sport. Cruise control is included as standard equipment across the lineup. Braking duties are handled by a 276mm front petal disc and a 220mm rear disc supported by dual-channel ABS, alongside a Panic Brake Alert feature designed to warn trailing traffic during heavy braking.
The upgraded instrument console features a new TFT screen displaying gear position, riding modes, shift advisory, cruise control status, real-time fuel economy, and distance-to-empty metrics. Bluetooth connectivity brings call and message notifications, music controls, phone battery levels, and turn-by-turn navigation. Additional rider conveniences include illuminated soft-touch switchgear, hazard lights, a Type-C fast charger, and five-step adjustable brake and clutch levers.
Booking and Availability Schedule
Official bookings for the new model open on 17 October, while customer deliveries are slated to commence on 1 November.
