Jio Platforms IPO Captures Stock Market Attention
Jio Platforms Ltd has officially filed its red herring prospectus for an upcoming initial public offering, creating major traction across the stock market. The digital and telecom arm of Reliance Industries aims to raise funds through a fresh issue of up to 27 crore equity shares.
The subscription window for the offering is scheduled to open on Wednesday, October 21, and will close on Friday, October 23, with anchor investor bidding slated for Monday, October 19. Shares are expected to list by October 28.
Pricing and Offer Structure Details
The company has established a price band ranging from ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share. Bidders must apply for a minimum of 12 shares and in multiples of 12 thereafter, bringing the cost of one lot to ₹13,428 at the cap price. Eligible employees participating in the employee reservation segment will receive a discount of ₹54 per share.
By calculation, the entire offering at the cap price amounts to ₹30,213 crore. This structure consists strictly of a fresh issue of shares, meaning all proceeds will go directly to the company rather than to selling shareholders.
Financial Background and Overseas Targets
Prior to this move in the stock markets, Jio Platforms reported consolidated operating revenue of ₹1,46,885 crore for the year ending March 2026, marking a 14.6% increase from the previous year. Net profit also climbed by 15.1% to reach ₹30,049 crore.
As part of its broader strategy, the company is targeting overseas markets for its tech stack, pitching itself internationally as a technology provider ahead of its upcoming market entry.
