Mayyur Girotra Lehenga Design Details
The outfit worn by radhika ambani was a modern-traditionalist skirt set created by designer Mayyur Girotra in partnership with Swadesh. Fashioned in the style of a dhoti, the elaborate skirt paid homage to the traditional kalamkari form originating from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The garment displayed pastoral scenes inspired by the mythology of Krishna Leela. Artisans painted freehand motifs of sacred cows, peacocks, lotus blossoms, and intricate floral vines utilizing a specialized bamboo pen, strictly avoiding stencils or blocks in accordance with the traditional Srikalahasti technique.
Symbolism of the Kalamkari Skirt
The overarching aesthetic of the attire told a deep visual story centered around nature and mythology. The contemporary corset top featured a sweetheart neckline that highlighted the tree of life, also known as the kalpavriksha. Surface ornamentation and complex embroideries like zardozi, dabka, pitta, metallic accents, and appliqué further elevated the rich textures of the design. A matching dupatta carrying hand-painted pastoral elements completed the look.
