Rahul Gandhi Criticises Government Over Noel Tata and Leadership Dispute
Rahul Gandhi accused the central government of allowing the Tata Group to suffer destruction amid an ongoing boardroom conflict involving noel tata.

Rahul Gandhi Speaks Out on the Boardroom Conflict
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi publicly criticized the central administration on Wednesday for allegedly permitting serious damage to the Tata Group. The remarks came to light amid an escalating internal dispute regarding leadership and corporate direction.
The controversy surrounds noel tata, who serves as the chairman of Tata Trusts and recently challenged a crucial board decision regarding top management.
The Reappointment Dispute at Tata Sons
The disagreement began after a board meeting where a resolution passed to reappoint N Chandrasekaran as the chairman of Tata Sons for another five-year term beyond February 2027. According to insiders, Noel Tata wrote to the company secretary to argue that the reappointment was void because it was not listed on the official meeting agenda.
While Noel Tata opposed the move during the board vote, another Tata Trusts nominee supported the resolution alongside the majority.
Disagreements Over Stock Market Listing
Tensions between the entities also involve a proposed public stock listing for Tata Sons. Noel Tata has opposed the move, stating it could expose the corporate group to market volatility and dilute the core philanthropic mission of Tata Trusts. Conversely, the board has looked favorably upon a listing following guidance from financial regulators.
Both factions have reportedly examined their directors and officers liability insurance policies in anticipation of potential legal proceedings, although no formal lawsuits or claims have been filed at this stage.
Political Reactions and Future Outlook
Weighing in on the corporate friction through social media, Rahul Gandhi accused the government of treating domestic enterprises as personal property. He further criticized business figures for staying silent on the matter and vowed to pursue justice.
Requests for comment sent to both Tata Sons and Tata Trusts regarding the reappointment dispute did not yield an immediate response.
