Global Campaign Launch for the Ramayana Movie
Sony Pictures International is launching a major global campaign for the highly anticipated ramayana movie, rolling out its second trailer ahead of the worldwide release. The studio, which secured worldwide distribution rights earlier in the year, is preparing to introduce the epic project to international audiences following promotional events held previously in Los Angeles.
The upcoming international promo, titled Ramayana: The Rise of a Legend, highlights Rama taking on a forest beast using his arrows. While a promotional clip confirmed the Thursday arrival of the new footage, the makers have not yet announced the exact release time for the second trailer.
Trailer Highlights and Narrative Details
A longer television spot recently offered viewers a look at Kunal Kapoor portraying Indra, the king of gods, riding his celestial mount Airavata. In the sequence, Indra confronts Yash's character, Ravana, who strikes the divine elephant and brings it down. Voiceovers in the promotional spots set up the conflict between good and evil, emphasizing a human narrative rather than a divine one for the protagonist.
Producer Namit Malhotra shared a note on social media explaining the vision behind introducing the project to global viewers, signing the message alongside director Nitesh Tiwari and co-producer Yash through his banner, Monster Mind Creations.
Upcoming Events and Release Plans
Alongside the international rollout, organizers are planning a major trailer launch event in Bengaluru, which serves as Yash's home turf. This event is anticipated to bring together key cast members including Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, alongside Tiwari and Malhotra. The initial trailer was previously unveiled in New Delhi earlier in the year.
Additionally, reports indicate that makers are pursuing permissions to host a special screening for political leaders at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, aligned with the worldwide release scheduled for November 5.
