શ્રેયસ અય્યર Claims Career-Best Fourth Position in ICC T20 Rankings

Indian batsman શ્રેયસ અય્યર has achieved a career-best fourth position in the latest ICC T20 International batting rankings. This upward movement comes on the heels of a stellar performance during the ongoing five-match home series against West Indies, where he recorded his maiden T20 international century.

Playing the opening match of the series in Lucknow, શ્રેયસ અય્યર delivered an exceptional display of batting to reach the three-figure mark for the first time in the format. His performance allowed him to climb three places in the standings.

Indian Dominance in the Top Four

The recent update highlights a strong presence of Indian cricketers at the top of the international leaderboard. Ishan Kishan maintains his position as the world's number-one T20 batsman, while Abhishek Sharma holds the second spot. With the recent advancement of શ્રેયস અય્યર, three of the top four T20 batters in the world are now from India.

Other notable movements in the T20 batting rankings include Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan at the third spot following his performances against Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Kusal Mendis of Sri Lanka moved up three places to 23rd, and India's Sanju Samson advanced four spots to a joint 27th rank.

Changes Across Bowling and Test Formats

The periodic update also reflects shifts in bowling and other formats. West Indies player Roston Chase made a significant jump of 24 places to claim the 23rd spot in bowling rankings, alongside advancing to third among all-rounders. In Test cricket, Australia's recent victory against South Africa brought notable changes, with Matthew Renshaw reaching 49th among Test batters and Josh Hazlewood moving up to seventh among bowlers following a six-wicket haul. Ravindra Jadeja of India successfully retained his top spot among Test all-rounders.
